Responsibilities and Scope
Assessing Legality, traceability, social aspects and sustainability of various commodities like (Wood, Palm oil, Cotton, Leather and other key natural commodities);
Conducting traceability visits at various nodes of factories i.e., manufacturing/seasoning vendors, trader, sawmill and farmer;
Conducting traceability virtual assessments, desktop-based assessment, social assessments at various factories of various commodities and nodes involved in the supply chain.;
Provide recommendations and suggestions to sites and build their capacity to implement it;
Compilation of visit reports and data management;
Participation in different EF work related webinars to gather the market information and current status;
Assistance in scoping and research of new products, Conducting risk assessments and document reviews;
Participation in new initiatives as and when entrusted with by the management;
Timely execute assigned tasks, members KPIs, Earthworm KPIs and provide field, desk, research;
Timely and successful execution of Social and traceability visits, virtual assessments, Desktop Assessments, and other agreed KPIs of members and Earthworm India;
Process improvements and research on new work areas;
Working with members on social aspects of supply chain;
Masters of wood science, forestry, agriculture, horticulture, rural development and allied sciences;
Minimum 2 years’ experience in project implementation, development sector, social audits, rural development;
Ability to communicate well in English both oral & written from farmers to boardroom;
Ability to work in team and under own initiative;
Understanding of Chain of Custody or timber tracking and traceability of various commodities;
Understanding of ethical issues in the supply chain;
Ability to travel for work for multiple visits;
Training on SA 8000 or equivalent and social assessment is needed;
Technological knowledge on traceability, GIS, mobile apps is a plus;
Required knowledge about the computers, MS office and other app-based technologies.
Language skills:
Fluent in English and Hindi (spoken and written);
Fluency in any other Indian language will be added as an additional quality.
