and national child protection systems and enable and enhance the
knowledge and professional capacity of child protection actors for effective implementation of laws and policies.
Job Title: District Project Manager
Location: Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh
Tenure : One Year
Job Purpose: The
District Project Officer will be responsible for the development and
facilitation of the foster carer assessment process. Also, assessing the
prospective foster families and placing the children from CCIs into the
foster families.
Reporting To: District Project Manager
Remuneration: Rs.28,000 to Rs.32,000 per month
Roles & Responsibilities: -
To develop and maintain effective relationship with community groups, local media and other agencies and stakeholders.
To
play a major role in the planning and facilitation of information
regarding foster care in the communities, among the stakeholders such
as CWCs, NGOs, and other agencies working with the disadvantaged and
vulnerable children.
To
support the fostering , where it is in the best interest of the child
and promotes the concept of continuity of care for the child.
To connect prospective foster carers with District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and assist in completion of documentation.
To develop specific recruitment strategies for CCIs
children, including children with trauma or mental health issue and
have siblings staying with them or separately.
To receive and process enquiries and applications from prospective foster families.
To
provide a timely, positive, professional and customer focused
response to initial enquiries received from prospective foster
families.
To
prepare comprehensive reports and documents as well as maintain
database systems in line with organisational requirements and
government regulations relating to recruiting of prospective foster
families.
Adhere to appropriate communication strategies and code of ethics while working with the children and families.
To
undertake the abovementioned tasks with flexibility in hours and
understanding that there is an expectation to undertake some of these
tasks as and when required.
Contribute
to the development and maintenance of a positive, supportive and
collaborative team environment including the on-going learning of all
team members through the sharing of ideas and feedback from training
Adhere
to Juvenile Justice Act 2015 & Rules 2016, Model Guidelines on
Foster Care 2016 and other related rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by organization
To work closely with Child Welfare Committee and District Child Protection Unit of the district.
To
do the mapping of CCIs in the district and identify the children who
are eligible for foster care in association with DCPU.
To maintain case file of children, eligible for foster care in the district.
To conduct Assessment of prospective foster families.
Assist in development, implementation and management of awareness on foster care through various modes in the community.
Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate strategies to recruit quality foster carers as required.
Assist in developing IEC materials appropriate policies and procedures relating to foster care recruitment.
To place children with foster families and maintain accurate and relevant records.
To maintain case file of children who are in foster care.
To provide on-going and continuous support to foster families and children after the placement of children in foster care.
To
play a major role in training of carers, determining training needs
as well as implementation and evaluation of training needs.
To
ensure assessment forms are duly filled keeping in mind the needs of
the children as well as prospective foster families.
To identify any gaps in match and provide support as required
Attend
monthly supervision meetings with your Training Manager and complete
the tasks identified at these meetings. Identify personal learning
needs and give feedback on the service including the identification of
gaps and areas for improvement.
To
prepare comprehensive reports and documents as well as maintain
database systems in line with organisational requirements and
government regulations relating to placing the children in prospective
foster families.
Adhere to appropriate communication strategies and code of ethics while working with the children and families.
To undertake the above mentioned tasks with
flexibility in hours and understanding that there is an expectation to
undertake some of these tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Master of Social Work.
5-7 years of experience in child protection especially with abandoned, neglected and abused children.
Worked with government and non-government agencies like CWCs, DCPUs, NGOs dealing in placing of children
Good Communication (oral and written) and Leadership Skills.
Thorough knowledge of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and JJ Rules 2016.
Thorough knowledge of Model Guidelines on Foster Care and other polices and laws, rules and regulations.
Good Organizational and Planning Skills.
Willingness to work in group or community-based programmes for integration and development.
Willingness to travel across the state of Bihar for trainings, workshops, awareness etc.
Residence
located within appropriate distance of office or willing to relocate
to any other district or place of work as per the requirement of the
project.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, Excel and other relevant technical skills.
Strong time management skills, diligence, resilience and ability to work in a team.
Non-judgemental
and unbiased approach while working with the children and families
from different cultural backgrounds and socio-economic status.
