Reach To Teach is an education charity
committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning outcomes in
Government primary schools in India. Reach to Teach works in
partnership with State Governments and other organisations to bring
about systemic changes in education and to improve the quality of
teaching and learning outcomes amongst children with an emphasis on
foundational learning and numeracy, higher order thinking skills and the
use of technology.

school level in rural areas of Gujarat to partnering with state

Team:
The
Data Analytics team is a critical part of the Programme Operations team
at Reach to Teach. The team is responsible for driving data-driven
approaches for the purpose of generating critical insights for
organisation through data analytics, visualization, and reporting
mechanisms. The team supports in identifying opportunities and drive
process/ system improvements for organisational efficiency and
establishing sectoral insights for strategic roadmap.
Job Purpose:
The
Associate Director- Data Analytics will be responsible for the
utilization and governance of data across the organization. The role
will work in close collaboration with Programme and Knowledge Leads to
create a data strategy to provide programmatic/thematic intelligence and
drive data driven decisions across the organisation. The Associate
Director will be the custodian of all programmatic and knowledge area
related data and will be responsible for presenting a unified form of
data from varied sources and databases.
The
Associate Director-Data Analytics will report to the Director-Programme
Operations and shall mentor the Data Analytics team at RTT.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a data strategy for the organisation aligning with its vision and objectives/priorities.
Lead on assessing and periodic review of data management and analytics requirement across the organisation.
Collaborate with functional teams
to understand their needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis
that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing deliverables and
presentations to come up with actionable, high-impact insights across
programmes, service offerings and functions.
Ensure that data and analysis is
presented and communicated in appropriate formats for a varied audience
using data visualization, dashboards, reports and other methods.
Lead on automation of the generation of reports and iteratively building and prototyping dashboards to provide insights at scale
Lead on the generation of sectoral
products/reports using large government data to drive evidence based
conversations with partner states and other stakeholders for system
improvement opportunities
Define data quality indicators
(DQIs), develop analytical algorithms and methods, deploy tools &
techniques to enhance data management systems.
Advise and implement procedures and structures to outline accountabilities for the effective management/governance of data.
Lead, motivate, and manage the
analytics team including prioritisation, project assignment, project
pipeline, workload management and risk management
Establish and create a data driven culture across the organisation
Experience and Competencies
Minimum: 12-14 years with at least 8 years of relevant experience in a data analytics role
Qualification:
Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative field (such as Engineering,
Statistics, Math, Economics, or Computer Science with Modeling/ Data
Science)
Prior project experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred
Familiarity
with database technologies and tools (SQL/R/SAS/JMP etc.), data
technologies such as Hadoop, Teradata and data transformation and
processing.
Experience with a visualization tool such as Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI, Sisense, etc.
Understanding of text analytics, data mining and social media analytics.
Work experience with real data for drawing insights, and functional analysis will be advantageous.
Sound
statistical knowledge in standard techniques: Classification models,
Cluster Analysis, Neural Networks, Logistic Regression, Random Forests,
Experimental Design, etc.
Substantial practical experience of working on MS Excel and other MS Office tools
Deep interest and aptitude in data management, analysis and applied knowledge of measurement and statistics
Capable of translating analysis results into functional recommendations
Able
to articulate and communicate well to all stakeholders (both verbally
and in writing) in a manner that meets the different needs of different
audiences.

Able to successfully manage different work streams with different delivery dates and stakeholders
