The key responsibilities for the positions would be:
1. Establish network, liaison with policy makers at State level with Agriculture, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and other key departments, related institutions and other key stakeholders. 2. Lobbying with concerned government departments and key stakeholders and collect relevant information regarding new policies, orders, notifications etc. 3. Conduct primary and secondary research under particular theme. Analyze the data to develop policy briefing and publishing papers to enable informed decision making, advocacy and campaign. 4. Develop advocacy plans and strategy and ensure appropriate actions for the fulfillment of the commitments under the programme. 5. Participate and represent VAAGDHARA in relevant external meetings, conferences or workshops of Agriculture, Rural Development and other key departments. 6. Collaborate with local and state level groups to create conducive environment key issues like soil health, Seed management, 7. Capture and document success stories and achievements for sharing with stakeholders and prepare reports on key activities, issues and required action points. 8. Support in publications, developing factsheets and newsletters. 9. Support in designing and implementation of advocacy campaigns.
Essentials 1. At least a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Social Work, Law & Governance, Nutrition and other related qualifications. 2. At least 5 years of relevant experience of working and advocacy with government departments, political leaders, bureaucrats and media (On the issues related to community development/agriculture/horticulture/soil health/seed/nutrition etc). 3. Proven experience of engaging with and influencing bureaucrats and policy makers. 4. Candidate having understanding of various aspects like integrated farming system, traditional farming, seed management, soil health, livelihood, NRM, GPDP, PDS, MGNREGS, etc and acts pertaining to tribal population like PESA, FRA etc. will have added advantage. 5. Experience of drafting variety of advocacy tools, policy brief, conducting research, campaigning etc to influence a political agenda. 6. Creative and appropriate written and verbal communications skills in English and Hindi and experience of developing communications materials and resources. 7. Diplomatic and influencing skills in support of effective collaboration and cooperation with multiple stakeholders. 8. Familiar with working with civil society networks and coalitions. 9. Ability to think strategically, plan, prioritize and implement multiple work tasks under tight timelines. 10. Ability to represent organization and its mission at different State level/ National level platforms.
Annual Salary (CTC) will commensurate with available skills and experience of the candidate.
