About the Program:
Vikramshila will work intensively with the co-located Anganwadi Centres in 4 districts of Assam to demonstrate quality Early Childhood Education Program, good practices of integration and help them to become centres of excellence in alignment to the NEP 2020
The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for providing technical assistance, support and supervision on all aspects of the Early Childhood Education Program including program design, M&E framework and process, material development, quality assurance, time bound deliverables, professional development of Anganwadi workers and ICDS functionaries in close coordination with the program manager. The Assistant Program Manager will closely work with the field coordinators, government officials, mentor teachers and partner staff on ECE program and developing model Anganwadi centres in co-located schools of Assam.
Key responsibilities: -Support in program design and implementation in support with the Program Manager. -Develop program M&E framework in line with the ToC to ensure time bound and high-quality deliverables with strong empirical evidence -Document, review and synthesize the insights that emerge from the field. -Support in research, curation and development of high-quality content, resources, modules and handbooks. -Manage program timelines and support tracking of project activities, deliverables and packages. -Support Program Manager in budget tracking and financial due diligence -Conduct frequent field visits, interaction with Supervisors, School Headmasters and Anganwadi workers with field coordinators. -Organizemeetings, workshops and events in support of the project activities. -Engage with stakeholders and organize consortiums in support of the project activities. -Manage and coordinate between relevant departments to enhance the quality of the program. -Participate in weekly-monthly team meetings and other learning sessions. -Support program manager in field team capacity building, monitoring and management The selected personnel will work in collaboration with the government systems of multiple departments (women and child development and school education),teachers, AWWs, communities, and children to devise and implement innovative strategies to improve the educational outcomes of the children to bring them at par with national standards in support of the program manager. The position is based in Assam with significant travel across 4 districts of the state. The profile entails approximately 10-15 days travel each month to field sites in Assam and will require the candidates to relocate to Guwahati. The programs involve robust quality understanding, academic excellence and strong management skills.
Required Qualifications, skills and Abilities: -Advanced university degree (Masters and above) in early childhood education/socialsciences/development studies/economics -Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, proven organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a quick learner. -Ability to work independently with high accountability and integrity -Mastery over MS office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Skills in STATA or other research software is preferred -Proven skills in stakeholder management -4-6 years of professional work experience at the national/ international levels inacademia/social research, social development, programme management, monitoring andevaluation. -Current knowledge of development issues, focusing on education, strategies, as wellas programming policies and procedures -Fluency in Englishand Assamese is essential (Reading, Writing and speaking). Working knowledge of Hindi is preferred. -Demonstrated communication and relationship building skills including exemplary oral andwritten presentation skills to work with senior and frontline government functionaries -Experience in creating spaces and environments that are conducive to team participation and effective coordination -Experience in budgeting and coordinating large scale projects -Clear upward communication and management skills -Strong research, documentation and evidence generation skills -Must be based out of Assam and open to relocate to Guwahati.
Compensation – 3.6-4.8 lakh per annum
